Implementing Effective and Data-Based Continuous Improvement Processes through Faculty Empowerment

This session will focus on discussing strategies implemented at the Universidad Icesi School of Engineering to overcome important challenges in the consolidation of a sustainable continuous improvement process that relies on the empowerment of faculty as main actors of student learning and academic programs’ quality assurance. The effectiveness of the implemented strategies is demonstrated through data-based evidence in terms of significant improvements in competency attainment, faculty performance and student retention. Through a series of experiences presented in the form of a case study, the presenters will discuss the way these strategies have become key success factors to assure the effectiveness of continuous improvement processes at the University.
