The Heart of the ABET Process is “Learning”

Harbor H

When you lose sight of student learning, the process is easily reduced to a checklist of things to comply with as opposed to an amazing opportunity to engage students and faculty in meaningful conversations designed to create a vibrant academic experience. This session will discuss the foundational principles of student learning and demonstrate how they should be reflected in the program processes. Participants will be able to explain the principles of student learning; they will be aware of the centrality of “learning” to the ABET process, and they will be able to identify improvements to student involvement in the accreditation processes.
