Janie Tiedeman leads global ED&I strategy and programming at AECOM. Most recently, Tiedeman spearheaded the launch of AECOM’s new flagship ED&I programs including a mentorship initiative and Employee Resource Groups. She leads AECOM’s global ED&I steering committee, comprised of leaders responsible for sharing key ED&I issues and best practices and setting strategic ED&I programming priorities for the company. She is also a member of AECOM’s ESG global counsel, co-leading the social value working group.
Tiedeman brings a unique perspective to her people and culture work, having pivoted to the ED&I role from a 28-year technical career at AECOM, first as a structural engineer and later leading the strategic growth and operations of our multimodal transportation practice in the Southeast U.S.
Tiedeman has an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
