Mary Leigh Wolfe, Ph.D., is Professor in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering (BSE) at Virginia Tech. She served as head of the BSE department for eight and a half years (from December 2009 through June 2018). Wolfe has been an active volunteer and leader in ABET for more than 25 years, serving as program evaluator, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) chair, Director, and President (2018-2019). She currently serves as the inaugural chair of ABET’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Advisory (IDEA) Council, whose charge is to promote inclusivity, diversity, and equity within ABET, its activities, its volunteer base, and its accredited programs. Wolfe served as President of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), a Member Society of ABET, during 2015-16. Wolfe is a fellow of ASABE, ABET, and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
