Cherlys Infante holds a B.S. in pharmaceutical chemistry from the Universidad de Cartagena-Colombia, and an M.Sc. in chemical technology from the Instituto Químico de Sarriá-Spain.
Currently, Infante is a tenured professor at the Universidad de Cartagena and Curricular Associate Dean at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. With a life devoted to education at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry program, Infante engages in life-long learning, leading the Pharmaceutical Chemistry program national and international accreditation projects. Infante has been teaching Unit Operations since 1990 and is also in charge of Biotechnology and Physical chemistry courses. For the past five years, Infante has worked around accreditation topics, and other interests include reading and writing about education and disciplinary topics.
The Pharmaceutical Chemistry program’s vision for 2022 is focused on an international recognition for its quality and social impact, so the Universidad de Cartagena provided institutional support for kicking off the preparation step aimed to get ABET accreditation in 2016.
