Mary Ann Hoppa, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Norfolk State University (NSU) and the cybersecurity graduate program coordinator. She is a co-Principal Investigator in NSU’s Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity and the Integrated High-Performance Computing Platform project (both funded by the Department of Defense). Hoppa serves as the department’s process improvement lead for assessments and accreditation, and university-wide strategic planning. Prior to joining NSU, Hoppa was a traveling faculty for the University of Maryland, University College Cybersecurity Graduate School in Europe. She entered academia after a multi-decade career at a federally funded research and development center.
