Moorea leads Data Science at UrbanFootprint, supporting urban planners through actionable, accurate data and analytics. Prior to joining UrbanFootprint in 2019, Moorea was VP of Data Science at Premise Data, which utilizes a global network of citizen contributors to collect targeted, local data through a mobile app and real time tasking platform. At Premise, Moorea oversaw the development of models for data collection, task allocation, and automated data quality control for the Premise Tasking Platform as well as the development of key data products. Moorea has also worked in the agriculture technology space, focusing on decision support tools for farmers including better crop outcomes through soil nutrient management, mapping disease risk and mitigation from the soil microbiome, and the development of parametric crop insurance. Moorea holds BS and MS degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and received her PhD in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. In her free time Moorea can be found hiking and running in the beautiful Bay Area, and digging into books about the history of science.
