Yaakov Leon Varol, Ph.D., is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Born in Turkey, Varol speaks five languages and holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and a Ph.D. in math/computer science. He served as department chair for 24 years and as an ABET PEV/TC for over 20 years. Currently, Varol serves as a member of the ABET CAC ExCom.
This presentation will describe ABET’s recently revised criteria for computing programs, including computer science, information technology, information science and cybersecurity.
