Dr. Yvette E. Pearson is Associate Dean for Accreditation, Assessment & Strategic Initiatives in the George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University. A Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), she is the inaugural chair of MOSAIC (Members of Society Advancing Inclusion Council), appointed by ASCE’s Board of Direction to provide leadership on all matters of diversity, equity and inclusion for the Society and the profession. Among her numerous awards and honors are ASCE’s Professional Practice Ethics and Leadership Award and ABET’s Claire L. Felbinger Award for Diversity and Inclusion, both of which recognize her contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion in engineering education and practice. Dr. Pearson is a registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana and serves as a Program Evaluator for the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
